Do you know how much a funeral costs?

Funeral Costs rising’ says recent Sun Life report but there are new solutions

A basic funeral in the UK now costs over £4,000 while the average cost of dying - including professional fees and send off costs has reached a cost of nearly £10,000.

Tech disruptors and new innovative funeral directors have entered the market to change the way we do this. For example Legacy of Lives enables people to record their funeral wishes online and when the time comes, these wishes can automatically be sent to local funeral directors so their family can compare quotes and identify the most fitting option.

Currently 82% of people in the UK only approach one funeral director so the ability to compare alternatives has to be good. Other tips are to go for an environmentally friendsly cardboard coffin, to use your own car to transport the coffin and to do your own flowers.
